The Syracuse Pops Chorus is raising money to perform in the world premiere of a new opera, "How Green Was My Valley", based on the book by Richard Llewellyn and the movie by John Ford. The opera is August 14th and 15th in Colorado Springs, and travel expenses are around $25,000. If you would like to help, please contribute to the chorus via Kickstarter, or send donations to the address below.

The SYRACUSE POPS CHORUS, formerly the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra Pops Chorus, has been singing under the direction of Lou Lemos since 2004. The group consists of about 100 voices, divided into 8 voice-parts. For smaller venues, 32 members were chosen for the SYRACUSE POPS ENSEMBLE. Come to hear us! If you read music, come to sing!

Our repertoire consists largely of new choral arrangements of old standards: Patriotic Anthems, Holiday Music, Broadway Tunes and other familiar songs by American composers (like I. Berlin, G. Gershwin, J. Kern, C. Porter, R. Rodgers, S. Sondheim). We also sing new music by local composers -- and an occasional Requiem.

We often sing with SYMPHORIA, successor to the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, at the 2100-seat Crouse-Hinds Theater in the Onondaga County Civic Center, the New York State Fairgrounds on July 4th, and out-of-town.

The Pops Chorus can be booked for concerts to benefit non-profit organizations -- and for events with corporate sponsorship. Please contact us at least 6 months in advance. We're likely to learn a new program just for you.

SYRACUSE POPS CHORUS, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Financial support comes from commissioned concerts, membership dues, fundraisers, and (we hope) an occasional foundation grant -- yet we depend heavily on donations from good people like you. Amateurs in the true sense of the word, we sing for the love of it. "Music is its own reward" -- but we couldn't do it in concert without your support.

Donations are greatly appreciated, and may be sent to:
